Turn Internet Explorer into Google Chrome

As the battle between Google and Microsoft continues to wage, Google have once again pulled another trick out of the bag to undermine Microsoft. This time in the form of an add-on for Internet Explorer.

Users can download and install the plugin into their Internet Explorer installation which essentially hands over the rendering of the page to the WebKit engine underpinning Chrome.

It works on a similar principle to the widely-used IE Tab plug-in for Firefox, which uses Internet Explorer to render pages that are incompatible with the Mozilla browser.

The search giant claims this will lead to improved browser performance for IE users, thanks to a faster JavaScript engine, support for HTML 5 and better CSS handling.

Visitors who turn up to Chrome Frame-tagged sites in other browsers, such as Firefox or Safari, will continue to have the page rendered by the native browser.

Google Mail – Personal Use

googlemail2With over 146 million users, as of June 2009, Google Mail has proved itself world wide to be one of the best email platforms available.

Also known as Gmail the service is provided by Google free of charge for personal usage with over 7 gigabytes of storage, almost unlimited storage really and with hundreds of others features there is more than enough to keep any body happy.

I have used Google Mail (Gmail) for both personal and professional reasons and have gained many thoughts and opinions about its use. During the rest of this post I hope to express as many of my thoughts as possible on using Gmail as a personal mail service.
