Okay Google finance is awsome for anyone interested in the stock market.

It allows you to do a number of things

2. Create/manage a portfolio

3. Easily view news stories which may have caused the ups/downs.

4. View competitors or similar companies

You can list what is in "your portfolio". This allows to see if you are on a profit or loss and gives you an instant, check anywhere method of viewing this.
