Google Caffeine

Okay well here is a copy of my test results so far for Google Caffeine. These results have just been put together as I type this and this is to help us compare how things would have went for it compared to other Search engines so far.

Here is the load test results :

This shows an average of 0.27 seconds which is roughly 0.06 of a second slower than standard Google, what must be remembered however is that the server priority for Caffeine is lower than the main Google homepage therefor it will be loading quicker. We cannot truly test this until it is launched fully.

This time is actually second to the standard Google making it faster to load than Bing, Ask and Yahoo.

Now it is time to see how many results we get and then how fast they load from the database.

The Test
As our benchmark we are going to look at a simple keyword “sport” and after this I am planning to look into a more specific search term. For the more specific search term I will use “Berwick Bandits” this being a local sports team and fitting in with the first term.

Google Caffeine :
Search : Sport : This search produced 866,000,000 results (roughly) in 0.07 seconds
Search : Berwick Bandits: This search produced 352,000 results (roughly) in 0.07 seconds

From this test it is apparent that the Google Caffeine index is considerabley larger and keyworded in a better way or atleast in a different way.

Of all search engines this system produces the most results and also in the fastest time.

My final test is keyword relevance. For this I don’t care how many results I get all I want to see is where my selection of websites appear from the keywords I use. The results are bellow :

Google Caffeine

Keyword 1 : Berwick Speedway
Results : Official site came 1st and Unofficial forum came 9th

Keyword 2 : Dunbar Domains
Results : Dunbar Domains site came 1st and LM-TIPS came 7th

Berwick Speedway appears to be more relevant results pulling the forum up in a much higher postion. This is the same for Dunbar Domains

Conclusion

Overall Google Caffeine is better than all other search engines that I have tested from the tests I have carried out. There are more results and the results are better ordered. Although the load time is slightly slower than the current leader (main Google homepage) this is bacause the page is just a background page and no priority.

The amount it is slower is also not enough to worry anyone.
