Google Caffeine- Improved search

Google constantly update and improve their services but recently it has been noticed that their search system was not getting much improvement and was beginning to fall behind on its features.

It was looking possible that someone else could create a system which may over throw Google from the number one spot. However Google have quietly been working on a new search system which they have nicknamed "Caffeine" for now.

Caffeine boosts Googles search results to a much higher number of results, all of which are a little more relevant. You may think that this means we are going to loose out on performance from the search giant but you would be wrong. It is roughly twice as fast as the current search system.

Google have made the service public at :

http://sandbox.google.com

Example of new versus old :

Old : Results 1 - 10 of about 305,000,000 for dog [definition]. (0.28 seconds)

New : Results 1 - 10 of about 357,000,000 for dog [definition]. (0.16 seconds)

This new search system is believed to also be showing a much more live system which will be able to compete with the likes of Twitter and Facebook. What you are able to access is the future of search so please enjoy it as Google are currently keeping it quite quiet.

Enjoy!

  1. Google Caffine! That is funny since I’ve always called it Google Crack.

Thanks for the information. Make sure to check out my blog and comment back :)

Have a great day and keep posting!

  2. Cambryn,

I had not seen it called Google Crack before but thanks for telling me this. I may be able to find more out about the new search feature etc using Crack as my keywords.

Caffeine however is what was shown on the sandbox while they were making changes to Caffeine… “Caffeine will be back soon we are currently making changes to our data centres”

I checked out your blog. I will more than likely visit again.
