As you all knew I was leaving on Thursday to go on a well deserved bre
ak to the download music festival. I returned late yesterday and did not post yesterday.
As I first logged in upon return I was notified that my WordPress installation was now out of date and I should upgrade to version 2.8. This as always posed a huge threat to the site as upgrade installs sometimes wipe out the entire site.
A full backup was then taken (having a much larger database than I expected) and then a manual upgrade took place. The upgrade went perfectly which is what I had wanted and I was able to go straight back to work on the site.
A new feature
The 2.8 upgrade also seemed, to me, to be the best possible time to finally make a mobile version of LM-BLOG.
I spent about an hour working on finding the most suitable system that would automatically take users visiting from a mobile phone/pda directly to our mobile site.
I found the one I wanted and again backed up before installing the system. The view/s above is what most mobile phones will see when they view lmblog.co.uk

Oh my… did you see Faith No More??? I really, really wanted to see them.
Sorry I didn’t write anything – I’ve been away on a staff conference and am leaving for New York on Sunday.
I did see Faith No More, one of the best bands I have ever seen. I am already working on plans to get myself along to the Edinburgh show in august.
