Adgitize was created in the summer of 2008 as an alternative advertising programme for bloggers. Somewhere where bloggers and advertisers could get together and chat about anything they wish.
It planned to use a unique point system to turn points into money. Working with big or small blogs.
Not only this but it also planned to give the advertising to users for a “blogger budget” meaning that it was also going to be one of the cheapest systems on the Internet. $14 for an entire months advertising!!
To make money you place ads on your website (each page load and each viewed ad gives you 1 credit) and you post (1 post per day for points) and then you can also view ads from the adgetize site (maximum of 100 per day gain points).
The points are then turned into cash. I myself do not fully understand the points system and how it turns to cash but here is Adgetizers description :
At the end of each month your points are converted to cash. We take your total points divided by the total points earned by all members. Then that percentage is multiplied by the amount of money placed into the system available for the members. You are then paid that amount once a month.
In fact as I read it again it does seem quite clear how it works, I may put a small tutorial of exactly how it works in another post later.
It is not a get rich programme its an advertising programme which offers rebates to its advertisers and gives users cash for how much they are able to display others ads.
Its a good system overall and as it is still growing it is being made better each and everyday.
I am enjoying trying it out and seeing the improvements they have planned. A Lot they have told us already is going to be launched in January (2009). The system for earnings currently shows a rough estimate until the end of the month, in January the earnings you see each day will be set in stone and the cash will add up each day to you exact monthly total.
Some major ups of the system
- Unlike optimizing for search engines where you are disadvantaged by bigger sites Adgetize treats all sites equally.
E.g. 100 sites in system + 1000 hits All sites get 1 view. Not the largest gets more. EQUAL!! - There are no huge fees for low CPM or fake clickthroughs.
- Set fee for the whole period of your ad. Don’t pay more if you get higher clickthroughs than expected.
Downfalls
The only real downfall of the system is probably its size however it is getting a fair amount of traffic at the current point. Member numbers are growing and so is the system.
Should I Join or Not?
I say JOIN. It is really showing its potential and the person in charge is putting a lot of time and effort into improving an already good idea. Spending a little but not all of the cash at regular intervals on things that matter.
Having the script properly tested and then even when it is fine improving it to make it faster, more reliable and easier to use.
